Here you will find examples of my work in production, engineering, songwriting, composition, editing, and sound design.

Audio Production

Music

Jobs Performed: Songwriter, Producer, Engineer, Performer.
This is my latest EP under the moniker Decker. All songs were recorded at my home studio using Logic Pro and Ableton Live, with the exception of “The Unknown,” which was recorded and mixed by Kyle Nielsen at Shoreline Community College.

Jobs Performed: Producer, Composer, Engineer, Performer.
This is the last of three songs I made with the late Janet Stimson. Janet collaborated with pianist Ashley Webster in writing this song, then came to me to record vocals and piano. I composed and performed the additional instrumental parts. I also sang the male vocal part. All tracking and mixing was done at my home studio using Logic Pro.

Jobs Performed: Engineer, Co-Producer, Composer, Performer.
For this song, Kris first laid down acoustic guitar and vocal tracks. He then had a violin player, Andrew D.B. Joslyn, come in to create a one-man orchestra! Afterwards, I added electric bass and drums, and mixed the song. All tracking and mixing was done at Shoreline Community College using Logic Pro and a Sony MPX 3036 console.

Audiobooks

Jobs Performed: Producer, Engineer, Sound Designer, Composer, Editor.
A long time friend of mine, Jenny DeWhitt, recently published a children's book called Jervis the Best. We worked together on making an audio version of her book, complete with narration by the author, original music, and sound effects. I composed all of the music using Logic Pro, then brought it in to Pro Tools for editing.

Jobs Performed: Producer, Engineer, Sound Designer, Composer, Editor.
This is an audio book of Elsa Beskow's classic children's book Peter In Blueberry Land. Again the music was composed in Logic Pro, then editing was completed in Pro Tools.

Commercial

Jobs Performed: Producer, Engineer, Songwriter, Performer.
The task here was to write a 30 second jingle for a fictitious company. Besides the drums, I wrote and performed all of the instruments and vocals. The drum track was creating by chopping up various found loops. This project was recorded and mixed at my home studio.

Post-Production

andrew snyder: “do what you love: a cycling short”

Jobs Performed: Composer. My good friends, Andrew Snyder and Zebb Bruser, filmed this video of Zebb doing what he loves around Seattle, and needed an equally fun soundtrack to match. “Have no fear, boys,” I said, “my trusty synth and I know just what to do!”

Elysian Brewing x Chucky: “A Killer Wit Beer”

Jobs Performed: Composer. Elysian Brewing partnered with USA Network and SYFY ahead of the second season of the “Chucky” TV series by creating this new pumpkin and cranberry witbier. To announce the collaboration, they wanted to put out a hauntingly delicious video, and kindly approached me for the musical accompaniment. I did my best Bernard Herrmann (composer of the original Psycho movie) impression.

Elysian brewing: "Scary good DELIVERY"

Jobs Performed: Composer, Sound Designer. This is a promotional ad for Elysian Brewing in Seattle, WA for their beer delivery service, which they provided during the COVID-19 lockdown. I tried to represent the fear we were all experiencing when beer was more difficult obtain.

Andrew snyder: “Pizza time campland #003: misty mountain"

Jobs Performed: Composer.
"Pizza Time Camp Land" is a series of videos created by my good friend Andrew Snyder. For his third installation, Andrew asked me to come up with some mist-inspired music to cut the video to. What resulted can be summed up in two words: epic taquitos.
